Thompson Clarke expands its studio at Portview
Long-standing Portview tenant Thompson Clarke expanded its studio footprint in 2025 as its Belfast interior design team continued to grow.

Interior design practice Thompson Clarke has expanded within Portview as the business and its Belfast-based team have grown.
The practice has been part of the Portview business community for a number of years. Portview’s 2020 Stage 1 architectural survey recorded Thompson Clarke occupying a 46 square metre studio in Block B, providing a useful snapshot of its earlier footprint within the former Strand Spinning Mill.
In 2025, Thompson Clarke extended its studio space at Portview, creating more room for the team and the collaborative design process behind its residential and commercial work.
Today the business describes itself as a Belfast-based group of eight interior professionals, led by Managing Director and Design Director Sara Thompson. Its work combines interior architecture, project management, sourcing and design, with projects ranging from private homes to commercial spaces.
The studio has also built a strong external profile, with a run of Best of Houzz Design awards from 2021 through to 2025.
For Portview, the expansion is a valuable example of a different kind of business growth. Success does not always mean a tenant leaving for another location. Sometimes it means being able to take additional space within the same building as the team develops and its requirements change.
Providing that flexibility helps businesses retain the relationships and working environment they have already established while moving into their next stage. Thompson Clarke’s expanded studio is a practical example of Portview supporting that progression from within.
