Portview 'Exchange' funding and business case update
£600,000 Council funding is committed towards Portview Exchange, while the business case for primary funding through The Executive Office’s Urban Villages programme remains under consideration.

Portview Exchange would bring studios, shared workspace, exhibitions and street-facing retail together in Block D on the Newtownards Road. The proposal builds on Portview’s creative community and would give existing space a new role in the life of the mill and the high street.
Belfast City Council has committed £600,000 through its Neighbourhood Regeneration Fund. The primary funding required to deliver the project is being sought through The Executive Office’s Urban Villages programme. The business case is under consideration and a decision is awaited.
The case for investment connects creative workspace with opportunities for public activity and community participation. Urban Villages seeks to improve good relations and develop thriving places; the proposal aims to contribute through the reuse of Block D and opportunities for people to work, learn and engage with creative activity.
Delivery remains subject to the outstanding funding decision and necessary approvals. Visit the Portview Exchange project page to explore the proposals and current status.
